- Auditions for all Season 2024 shows will be held from 3:00 pm-8:00 pm on Thursday and Friday, November 16-17 and Saturday, November 18 from 9:00 am-8:30 pm. Auditions will be held at the Nampa Civic Center in Nampa, Idaho. Call back auditions will be held in the evenings between Monday November 27 and Saturday December 2.
- Those auditioning must sign up for an audition time by filling out the on-line registration form linked to at the bottom of this page.
- As part of the registration process, you will be given the opportunity to indicate the number of shows you are willing to be cast in, and whether or not you are willing to do back-to-back shows. You will also be able to indicate which shows you are interested in by ranking them in priority order, (with 1 being the most interested and 7 being the least interested) and what shows you are not available for. The more shows you are available for, the more likely you will be to be cast. It is critical that you accurately indicate your availability and preferences on the form, as the on-line database will be the only source used for this information while we are casting.
- You will then be given a list of the roles in the shows you are available for which match your age and gender. You will be given the opportunity to indicate which roles you are particularly interested in. We reserve the right to cast you in whatever role we feel best meets the needs of the production, but your preferences will be taken into consideration.
- Each audition session will be 50 minutes in length, with up to 15 people in each session. For Season 2024, you must be 8 years old or older by the beginning of 2024, or a previous company member in order to audition.
- All those auditioning should prepare to present one excerpt of music from the approved audition list. The piece chosen should show off the vocalist’s talents and vocal ranges. We will have copies of all the approved pieces at the audition site. We will NOT allow you to bring an outside accompanist. An accompanist will be provided. No CDs or tapes will be allowed. Vocalists who show up unprepared will be turned away. We only allow audition pieces from our ‘approved” list. After you have registered to audition, you will receive the list, with directions on downloading the sheet music.
- Any child who wishes to be considered for an orphan role in Annie will be required to participate in the “Annie Bootcamp,” which is happening in August 2023 (see the MTI website for registration). Participants will receive their audition prep and music selection in the Bootcamp. Children will need to register (sign up) for an audition slot.
- A fee-based audition preparation service is available through the MTI. This service includes assistance in selecting audition music, preparation of that music and encouragement and coaching up to auditions. Go to broadwaynampa.org for more information and to register for assistance. This assistance is offered as a service and is in no way required in order to be cast.
- Each performer must upload a current photo of themselves to their audition registration. The photo does not have to be a prefessional headshot -- take a good selfie and upload it.
- The audition process is meant to be casual and stress free. We do promote a professional environment. To that end, we ask that those auditioning wear comfortable clothing, preferably in dark colors (navy blue or black). Please do not wear t-shirts with logos, advertisements or slogans on them. Please do not wear tank top or halter type items (it's November!). Wear comfortable footwear and basically don't wear anything that's going to distract from your audition. Your hair (men and women) should be away from your face and not be a distraction.
Be sure to read all instructions carefully as you complete the registration process!
If you have auditioned with MTI at any time from Season 2012 on, you should already be in our database. If so, please do not create a new account for yourself! If you do not remember your user id (e-mail address), please send an e-mail to webmaster@mtionline.org and we will look it up for you, and change it if necessary. If you have forgotten your password, use the link on the log-in page to request a password reset.
